BIO: Adam Zdrojewski (BHS ‘00) is the current president of the Beaverton School Board and has served on the board since 2008. A graduate of Beaverton Schools and Michigan State University (B.S. in Construction Management), Adam is employed at Dow as NAA/LAA Portfolio Manager. He and his wife Jane (BHS ‘87) have three children - Jessica (BHS ‘11), Jeremy (BHS ‘17) and Benjamin (BHS ‘27). Adam serves on several local organizations and boards, including Knights of Columbus and the CTE Construction Trades Advisory Board.

WHY HE SERVES: “I serve on the Beaverton School Board because I enjoy being a part of such a great organization. My wife and I both received our K-12 education in Beaverton; most of our relatives did, too. Our kids either already have or will graduate from Beaverton. I am very proud to be from Beaverton, and serving to help keep the school current and viable is a goal of mine. Education is not an easy profession, and I have the utmost respect for anyone who answers its call. I feel as a board member my job is to do the best I can by those administrators, teachers, bus drivers, custodians, para professionals, support staff and anyone else who helps to shape the futures of our children. I am also very proud of the fact that I am a third-generation board member, following my Grandpa and my mom, who both served on board. Their example helped shape my desire to be a part of something and to help make things as good as they can be. My mom was able to hand my brother and me our Beaverton diplomas, and my goal is to be able to say I handed all three of my kids theirs. Being here makes me feel like I am a part of the solution and I am so proud of all the work being done at Beaverton Schools. I believe in our school system and all who make it work, and I am humbled to be allowed the opportunity to serve the school and the community.”

BIO: Jason Pahl is the current vice president of the Beaverton School Board and has served on the board since 2021. A graduate of Gladwin Community Schools who attended Saginaw Valley State University, Jason is employed at Robinson Industries as Manager of Purchasing, Maintenance and Operations. He and his wife Kara have two children - Mady (BHS ‘21) and Alex (BHS ‘23). Jason serves on several local organizations and boards, including as vice president for the Clare-Gladwin RESD board; chair of the Gladwin County Community Foundation; Knights of Columbus; and longtime past president of the Beaverton Youth Recreation Program.

BIO: Mark Hayes is the current secretary of the Beaverton School Board and has served on the board since 2018. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's degree in Education and received a Specialist Degree from Western Michigan University in Adaptive Physical Education. He taught for 34 years, retiring in 2017. Mark is a member of the Beaverton Lions Club and volunteers for the Beaverton Activity Center and has kept stats for the high school boys basketball teams for several years.

WHY HE SERVES: "I serve because I am extremely invested in education for all students. I believe the responsibility of the board is to provide all students with the best possible education, streamlined for all learners regardless of any disability that they might have. My knowledge of the educational process allows me to make decisions that will hopefully help in providing a solid foundation for all Beaverton students and staff. I totally believe that our teaching staff, administrators and support personnel are top notch and really do a great job of providing a positive learning environment for all our students. I love being a part of this great community."

BIO: ShaVonne Brubaker is a current trustee on the Beaverton School Board and has served on the board since 2018. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Community Mental Health for Central Michigan, ShaVonne is very active in the school district and the community as a board member, parent and coach and is leading the board in the development of an improved process for superintendent evaluation. She and her husband Ryan (BHS ‘04) have two children attending Beaverton, Layelin (BHS ‘31) and Ryker (BHS ‘33).

BIO: Ryan Longstreth (BHS ‘08) is a trustee on the Beaverton School Board and has served since 2022. One of Beaverton’s most successful student-athletes ever - as well as the valedictorian of his class - he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Leadership from Central Michigan University and was also drafted by the Detroit Tigers. Today, Ryan is co-owner of his own manufacturers’ rep group for Mechatronics Solutions. He and his wife Rhead have three children in the Beaverton Schools family: Kate (BHS ‘34), Parker (BHS ‘36) and Tucker (BHS ‘39).

I’ve been blessed with some great opportunities, and none of that could have happened without what started here. BIO: Michael Dodman is a current trustee on the Beaverton School Board and has served on the board since 2020. A Beaverton graduate (BHS ‘95), he earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication Disorders from Central Michigan University. He is a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist and owns a private practice specializing in diagnostics and treatment for people with traumatic brain injury. He and his wife Melodie have two children attending Beaverton Schools, Isabelle (BHS ‘27) and Charlotte (BHS ‘31).

WHY HE SERVES: “I serve on the Beaverton School Board because I believe in providing excellent educational opportunities within this cherished community. I believe that all children have the right to receive the best possible education no matter where they come from or what obstacles they have to overcome, in a safe and inclusive setting. Beaverton Schools provided me with the educational backbone and strong community values that have assisted me, beyond words, in my family and career life. We currently have two children enrolled at Beaverton and I hope to continue to provide them and all students with an excellent and safe educational setting - ‘strength through education,’ my father always told me.”
