Beaverton Schools is holding a Community Forum ZOOM meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2020@ 3:30pm. So much has changed since Gov. Whitmer released her proposed budget for 2020-2021 in February. There have been so many significant changes over the past months and the reality is, the budget we will adopt this year will be vastly different from the one we had planned to adopt pre-pandemic. During this meeting, we will address the current landscape of education. All information will be fluid at this point and subject to change after the May 15th Revenue Consensus. Public comment will be taken in to advisement.  Stakeholders that join the meeting may pose questions in the chat for our administration team to take in to consideration as we are adjusting and finalizing next year's budget.  Topic: Community Forum Budget Zoom Meeting Time: May 13, 2020 03:30 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada) https://us04web.zoom.us/j/72184870397?pwd=OHJzYkZBYWxJOGpMbHlvS20zdVFMUT09 Meeting ID: 721 8487 0397 Password: 0Ux4uN Hope to see your faces on May 13th.

P-EBT Food Assistance Benefits for Families Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer Program (P-EBT) food assistance benefits will go to Michigan families with students ages 0-26 that are eligible for Free or Reduced-Price School Meals. This includes families currently receiving Food Assistance Program benefits, as well as those not currently enrolled in the program. No application is necessary for eligible families to receive P-EBT benefits. If you have any questions, please contact 1-833-905-0028 If the student was already receiving SNAP benefits, they will automatically receive the P-EBT benefits on their card. Our whole district is eligible based on a Free or Reduced-Price Meal the pre-loaded P-EBT card will come in the mail and will be in the oldest school aged child’s name, not the parents name. Keep the card for ongoing benefits you may receive. MDDHS is processing cards in batches thru mid-May. The combined benefit amount for March/April is $193.80 per child and will be available by the end of April. The combined benefit amount for May/June is $182.40 per child and will be available by the end of May. To activate the card call the phone number on the back of the card. You will need the EBT card number on the front of the card, your zip code, and the date of birth of the oldest child in your household. You will need to set a four-digit pin number.

A new requirement under the Governor's latest order is for people to cover their nose and mouth with homemade or non-medical grade face coverings when they enter enclosed public spaces, starting Monday. WE ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF FACE COVERINGS FOR OUR ESSENTIAL STAFF! We have secured some masks but we are need of many more for the remainder of the school year. PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO THE SCHOOLS. We are in this together. #GoBeavers
