The MetaMetrics Summer Math Challenge runs through July 29th - so there's still time to register. Each day you will receive a quick math activity via email - it's lots of fun and a great way to keep your child's math skills sharp this summer. Bedtime Math posts a new math problem every night on their website and free app (available on iphone and Android). https://bedtimemath.org/ K-3 students - don't forget to add the stickers to your constellation for each bedtime math story you do this summer (sent home in your summer learning bags). We'll be giving prizes this fall!

Attention parents of incoming K-6 Beaverton Elementary students: There will be a rewards assembly in the fall for students who show us some proof of reading over the summer. Students can fill out the reading bookmark that was sent home, report books read in the KRN portal, or simply keep track of books or time read on a piece of paper. The important thing is to keep those reading skills sharp! Reading during summer break makes a HUGE difference for students in the fall. It's not too late!

Just a friendly reminder - Summer time is a great time to make appointments for sports physicals and immunizations. The State of Michigan does have several school required immunizations. If you have a child in Kindergarten, 7th grade, or are new to our district your student's immunization status will be assessed and will need to be updated prior to the beginning of the school year. Additionally, all potential athletes will need to have a current health physical on file with the school. Enjoy your summer!!

Books are on the way! Many of our students are participating in the Kids Read Now summer reading program. Beaverton Elementary's first @KidsReadNow books have shipped and are on the way to our students! If you've reported a book for your child, make sure you're checking the mail for your next book!

Many of our students are participating in the Kids Read Now summer reading program. Every @KidsReadNow book includes a Discovery Sheet on the inside of the front cover. These questions help children to relate the book to themselves, to other books, and to the world! Are you discussing these questions with your child? What are your favorite questions (and answers) so far?

Girls Basketball Camp for 4th-8th Graders begins today through Thursday from 9 to noon at the high school gym. We hope to see your daughter there! GO RED!

Congratulations to our 2nd and 3rd grade “Plant a Tree for Our Planet” coloring contest winners! The contest was sponsored by the Gladwin Conservation District as part of Earth Day & Arbor Day. All of the beautiful coloring sheets for both grades will be displayed at the Beaverton Activity Center so be sure to check them out!

Please see summer opportunities from the Beaverton Athletic Department. We hope your child will participate in at least one activity this summer in order to stay active! Pay attention for those camps that have grade requirements, which will be the grade entering for upcoming 2022-23 school year. GO RED!

K-3 Parents/Caregivers - DON'T FORGET POPSICLES WITH PARENTS THIS THURSDAY. Help us kick off summer with a popsicle and some math game fun! Specific time slots for each K-3 class have been sent home with students. If you aren't sure - contact your child's teacher.

Elementary parents who would like information about summer learning opportunities and weren't able to come for Popsicles with Parents can see us at the outdoor classroom behind the elementary building (near the ball fields) on Thursday, June 2nd from 3-5pm.
