BEAVERTON SCHOOLS PRESENTS...MOVIN' ON: In two weeks, we say goodbye to four of our longtime, beloved teachers. But a few seniors didn't want to wait. Click here: youtu.be/MF9tJGxxNfs #Goodbye #BeavertonAlways

ON THE LINE: Congratulations to senior George Killian, who signed on the dotted line today with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 692. George is receiving a five-year electrical apprenticeship, including 960 hours of related training and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training under the agreement. #Wired #GoBeavers

IT'S BEEN GRAND, DAN: At Monday's practice, the varsity softball team paid tribute to a man who's been roaming the basepaths at BHS for 33 years as head coach, co-coach and all-around excellent human being. After more than three decades, Dan Whitmer will step down following the season. While it's impossible to measure the positive impact Dan's had on generations of young people in our school, it's painfully simple to gauge how much he'll be missed. #ThanksDan #GoBeavers

A GUBERNATORIAL GREETING: It’s a blink-and-you'll-miss it kind of thing, but when BJSHS’s very own math teacher and U.S. Army Captain Kossi Komlassan was recently deployed to Latvia with the Michigan National Guard, he crossed paths with Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Komlassan was able to secure a message from Whitmer to this week’s graduates, which you can view at bit.ly/3BKYcTS. You can read more about Komlassan’s mission and the governor’s visit at bit.ly/3MMzvN1 and bit.ly/438QL4C.

TOMORROW'S LEADERS...TODAY: Before they close out the year, the BJSHS eighth grade elected its slate of officers for student council in high school. The class of 2027's leadership is Myah Hubble (president), Sayde Woodruff (vice-president), Charity Danielak (secretary) and Sophie Milks (treasurer), along with representatives Isabelle Dodman, Ben Zdrojewski and Trinity Danielak.

ENJOYING THE JEWEL OF THE GREAT LAKES: Our eighth-graders embarked on the annual visit to Mackinac Island Saturday. While the air was a bit chilly, the sun came out (eventually) and made for a nice day and a great getaway. #GoBeavers

FROM THE HEART: Graduation is Thursday at 7 p.m. To view a special message for the Class of '23, click the photo or go here: https://bit.ly/45j1viH #BeavertonAlways

PHONES ARE DOWN: Please be advised that phones at Beaverton Schools are currently inoperable and we are unable to make or receive calls at this time. We expect the situation to be resolved soon. Sorry for any inconvenience.

RECOGNITION: The BJSHS Academic Awards roared back this morning, thanks to expert show-planning by our NHS crew. Outstanding students were applauded across all sectors in an excellent prelude to next week's graduation activities. #BestAndBrightest #GoBeavers
