Good evening Beaverton Community, I am sharing a couple of food distribution schedules for those in need during these unprecedented times. On Monday & Thursday...Chartwells will be serving meals out of the Jr./Sr. High school kitchen from 4-6pm. This will occur each week that we remain closed. Folks will be asked to drive around to the back of building and stay in cars when picking up food. Please see the other opportunities that are being offered by Beaverton Fire & Police department. Details are attached. In case people are concerned...we will have our cleaning crew cleaning the cafeteria right behind them each night. Have a great evening and thank you for your patience and understanding.

Good morning Beaverton Community, We are embarking on some unprecedented times. Please see the most recent communication as it pertains to the campus closure.

To the Beaverton Community, This letter was developed in concert with all Clare Gladwin Regional Education Service District Superintendents, Midland, Bullock Creek, Coleman and Meridian. This is a joint task force that is doing everything in our power to address these uncertain times. We are asking everyone to take the extra time to wash your hands thoroughly and make this a teachable moment. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Congratulations to Mr. Ryan Roberts. Mr. Roberts has been recognized by the Michigan Department of Education as a Michigan Breakfast Hero! His support as it pertains to ensuring all students are eating a nutritious breakfast is outstanding. The support he has given at Beaverton Jr./Sr. High School is so important and he truly is a Breakfast Hero!

Michigan Association of School Boards has recognized Trustee, Mr. Robert Frei, for achieving the Master Board Member award. Thank you Mr. Frei. This is a well deserved recognition.

Announcements: March 5, 2020 • March is Reading Month Quote of the Day: “You don’t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.” Ray Bradbury • We will be sending off our state qualifying wrestlers and bowlers on Thursday by having the student body form a tunnel down the long hallway. Please start forming at 3:05 and we will start it at 3:07, then kids can just dismiss from there. • Baseball Practice schedules are in the office or see Mr. Wicke. • Juniors and Sophomores: Don't forget to turn in your CTE and scheduling forms! Turn them in sooner to lock in your preferred program! • Juniors that applied for Work-Based Learning for Next Year. Check your school email for a message from Mrs. Ewert. There is a meeting on Friday, March 6 during 1st lunch in Room 155. Get your lunch and bring it with you. The meeting will start at 11:10 a.m. If you have questions, see Mrs. Ewert. • Say Yes to the Prom Dress! Saturday, March 7th @ 9am to 2 pm in the Beaverton Activity Center Gym. • The Mock Rock will be on Friday, April 3rd. Sign-up in the office to enter yourself or group in the competition. • Jr/Sr High School Equestrian Team sign-up sheet and information is in the office. • Attention Spring Sports athletes: Practices start March 9. You must have a physical and a green card from the office before that date. • There is a sign-up sheet for any girls interested in playing high school volleyball next year but missed the meeting. • All girls 9-12 come to a meeting at 11:15 Thursday in Mr Wentworth's room. • Yearbook students will be selling yearbooks at lunch this week. $50 cash or check to Beaverton Schools. Get your book before it's too late! • Attention juniors and seniors: Are you planning to pursue a career in the military, EMT, Police Department, Fire, Justice System, or DNR? If so, see Shawnnah Hannah or Ms. Fitz before spring break to be featured on a spread for the yearbook! The Midland County hunter safety program is running a hunter safety class out of Meridian High School in Marc. For those that are interested. Space is limited.

Paleo Joe visits the elementary students!

Our 4th grade science fair got off to a great start this morning! Starting at 4:30 this evening, a gallery walk of the science projects can be viewed at the Junior Senior High School cafeteria.

Beaverton Schools has been in touch with our local health departments, to get some advice on best practices and next steps as the the outbreak goes on. Sharing out information at this time is what is recommended.
