BEAVERS ASSEMBLE! A brief pep assembly today at BJSHS provided the opportunity to take care of several important pieces of business, including the always-entertaining yell-down competition; a beautifully-rendered fight song; the introduction of Mrs. Inscho and Mrs. Sanderson as principal and assistant principal, respectively; and the well-deserved recognition of student-athletes Karley Fischer, Eva Reader and Kaelyn Fischer for earning high honors from The College Board National Recognition Program. #GoBeavers #FirstWeekFrenzy

The JV football team travels to Evart tonight for their first contest of the season. Due to technical difficulties, the game has been pushed up to a 6:15 p.m. start time due current issues with their lights and scoreboard.

The Varsity Volleyball team hosts Central Montcalm and Ogemaw Heights tonight in Roy Johnston Gymnasium. Game time is 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $5. Go Beavers!

7th and 8th grade volleyball will meet for practice tomorrow, August 23rd at 3:30 p.m. in the Elementary Gymnasium. Please make sure that you have a green card on file.

Attention 10th & 11th Graders: Do you want to see if you meet the standards for the National Merit Scholarship Program? A NEW APPROACH: After much thought, study and deliberation, the Beaverton Schools Board of Education and administration have made significant changes to the BJSHS cell phone policy. It's going to be an adjustment for everyone, but students and parents need to know what the changes are and why they were made. THE HOUSE IS OPEN: Families won't want to miss Wednesday's Beaverton Schools Open House. The event runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at both BES and BJSHS. Aside from meeting teachers, obtaining class schedules/other important info and getting the general lay of the land, students in grades 5-12 will sign their technology usage agreements and receive their Chromebooks. FALL GOLF: Boys and girls in grades 7-12 are invited to join our Fall Golf Club. The eight-week league begins Sept. 5. Although we do not require any student to have a set of supplies to start school, here are some general items that students can use throughout the school year. Volleyball camp is scheduled from Monday, July 17th through Wednesday, July 19th. Grades 9th-12th from 9 a.m.-noon and grades 4th-8th from 1-3 p.m. Cost is $20, includes t-shirt.
