SLEIGH BELLS: Between the marching band blasting holiday tunes and Homecoming Queen Adalee Martin flipping the switch, tonight's Tree Lighting ceremony at Ross Lake Park had a distinct BJSHS vibe. #GoSanta #GoBeavers

Mrs. Sprague's biology class learned about classification and dichotomous keys! We invited some guests to identify student shoes in a showdown! Team 2 was victorious! Thanks to Mr. Hitsman, Mr. Butzu and Mr. Colman for handling stinky shoes!

Here is the plan for after-school events in light of today's early release: Middle School Girl's Basketball practice is CANCELED for today. Boy's High School practice has been moved to immediately AFTER release. Boy's High School Wrestling practice has been moved to immediately AFTER release. WINTER CLOTHES: While you’re checking in with your student’s teachers at Tuesday's parent/teacher conferences, please stop by and take any clothes you may need for winter - coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, pants and more items for the choosing. The Beaverton Schools Clothing Closet, facilitated by our local NHS students, will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at the BJSHS Library. #KeepWarm #GoBeavers

FAMILIES WITH DENTAL NEEDS: The GLB Health Centers Dental Bus is returning to Beaverton Schools next week, and if your student needs some preventative dental services, this is a great opportunity. The mobile dentist will be at the school Nov. 27 and 28 for all interested K-12 students. Services offered will include preventative measures like cleanings, exams, fluoride treatments and sealants. PLAN TO SUCCEED: With parent-teacher conferences set for next Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at both buildings, we’re advising visitors of revised teacher availability to make the discussions as effective as possible. At BES, conferences for grades K-3 will be held in students’ respective classrooms at scheduled times. For grades 4-6, all teachers will gather in the gym for open house style meetings. At BJSHS, all teachers will confer with parents in their classrooms. All meetings for grades 4-12 will be held on a first-come, first-served basis. We greatly look forward to seeing you. #GoBeavers

SPECIAL SALUTE: Beaverton Elementary's Veterans Day assembly is always a heartfelt, moving affair, and today's was no exception. Sincere thanks to our veterans and guests, and congratulations to our students for putting on a sterling show of community pride.

The Anatomy and Physiology students at Beaverton Jr/Sr High School visited the "Real Bodies" on exhibit at the Sloan Museum today! They were amazed at the details shown in these plasticized, real bodies on display. We were able to see parts of the human body in a unique and remarkable way. This was a valuable experience that added to our studies!

SPECIAL DAY: With Veterans Day approaching, our elementary students want to say 'thank you' to all our current and former local service members with the annual Beaverton Elementary Veterans Day Assembly. The event is set for this Friday, Nov. 10, at 9:30 a.m. at BES. (Light snacks will be provided to service members at 9 a.m.) Please spread the word to anyone who has served and encourage them to attend this heartfelt student salute. #ThankYouVeterans #GoBeavers
