SAGE ADVICE: Last week, BJSHS seniors in the JMG group arranged to have several local professionals visit for a session covering important interview tips for jobs and scholarships. The experts shared their best counsel and the students asked A LOT of questions. MOVING ON: The Beaverton Football squad survived and advanced with Friday’s 34-20 win over Hemlock. The top-seeded Beavers now host McBain this Friday at 7 p.m. with the hopes of grabbing the school’s first-ever football district championship. Join us at C.W. Metzger Field and help them do it. THE LONG RUN: It’s not over just yet for Beaverton Senior Tessa Wohlshlegel, who picked the perfect moment to destroy her PR at Saturday’s Cross Country Regionals in East Jordan. Tessa put up a new school record of 19:45, wrecking her previous career best by 45 seconds and earning ninth place in the region. That was plenty to punch her ticket to the state finals this weekend in Brooklyn. All the info for that race is at https://bit.ly/3MlMjJI and tickets must be bought at https://bit.ly/49hXXPR. HEY KIDS! FREE HOCKEY! - Youngsters, it's never too late to learn about hockey. In fact, you can get an introduction to the sport for free at "Try Hockey For Fun" on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Gladwin Community Arena. SPOOKY SERENADE: The BJSHS band surprised BES fifth-graders and kindergarteners with a musical appearance this afternoon, performing several Halloween tunes and sounding great doing it. #GoBeavers
TOURNEY TIME: Our volleyball team marches into the postseason next week from the comfy confines of its own home gym, hosting districts at BJSHS. The action kicks off Monday with Meridian squaring off against Beal City. Play continues with a double-header Wednesday featuring the Beavers versus Farwell and Pinconning versus Monday's winner. The championship will then be played Thursday. Per MHSAA rules, all tickets for the tournament will be sold online only. The Varsity Volleyball team finishes their season at home tonight in Roy Johnston Gymnasium. They will take on Clare, Meridian, and Pinconning in a quad event, starting at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are 5$. Go Beavers!

Please be aware this is the only method to gain entrance to the game and MHSAA rules prevent us from selling tickets at the gate. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at C.W. Metzger Field; gates open at 5:30.
PLAYOFF BOUND: For our varsity football team, the regular season is done, but the playoffs are just beginning. Players gathered today to watch the playoff matchup announcements and celebrate another trip to the postseason. But for this first game, they won't travel far as our own C.W. Metzger Field will host the first-round showdown with Hemlock. More info to come, but plan on a big night in Beaverton this weekend. #GoBeavers #Playoffs!
